MP Town Hall: Is Canada’s electoral system obsolete?

Today we are hearing more and more voter frustration about how Canada’s political parties operate; on the role of MPs and the Senate and on how we elect Parliament. The recent Senate scandal and the muzzling of MPs by the government has the public calling for change and reform.

On Saturday, February 1, 2014 three of BC’s leading experts on democracy and the electoral process will bring their views on Democratic Reform to our first Town Hall Meeting of the year.

Speakers are: Gordon Gibson, author on federalism, governance, and aboriginal/non-aboriginal relations; Anke Kessler, Professor of Economics Simon Fraser University specializing in the structure of government and Margot Young, Professor of Law at the University of British Columbia specializing in constitutional law.

Have your say.
