Teaching About Taxes

Are you interested in teaching your students more about how taxes create equity?
The CCPA-BC has produced easy to use resources for people interested in teaching about the relationship between taxes, our quality of life, and our ability to reduce inequality. These resources would also be great for teacher discussion groups and/or parent meetings. Click here for more info.

While inequality is more severe in the United States, over the past 20 years inequality actually grew faster in Canada than it did in the U.S. and within Canada B.C. is the most unequal province.

At PAGE we’d love to hear your thoughts, or your student thoughts on Teaching About Taxes. Please write to us at editor@pagebc.ca. Consider the following:

  • How have you made use of the resources?
  • What surprises you or interests you most about the facts in the slide show presentation?
  • In what ways can you and/or your students participate in working towards make BC a more equitable society?
