Women, War and Peace Film Series

Amnesty International Victoria is co-presenting a series of documentary films highlighting the costs to, and contributions of, women in times of conflict. Next film is I Came to Testify which illuminates the momentous courage of Bosnia’s female was survivors – systematically gang-raped, tortured and imprisoned by Serb-led forces – in testifying to the world. They paved the way for a precedent-setting verdict: the prosecution of rape and sexual enslavement as a crime against humanity. Discussion and refreshments to follow. Camosun College Lansdowne Campus, Young Bldg. Rm 300, third floor, 7- 9 pm. Admission by donation – $10 suggested.
